# Event-page link-preview release worksheet

Copy this worksheet for each event edition and page URL you intend to share. A link preview is generated by the destination platform; this record helps you verify what actually appeared. It does not force a platform to display a card or update an existing post.

## 1. Approved page and visual

- Event / edition: [ ]
- Exact public HTTPS URL: [ ]
- Page purpose and language: [ ]
- Approved event title, date/time zone, venue and registration status: [ ]
- Source image file / asset owner: [ ]
- Approved sharing-image export and crop: [ ]
- Image review owner and approval date: [ ]
- Image revision needed after event changes: [ ]

Check the shared image at small size. If important words from a print poster become unreadable, prepare a simpler page-specific crop. Keep essential event facts in the destination page text.

## 2. Page-level preview setup

| Field or setting | Published value / evidence | Owner |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Page-specific social image field or site-wide fallback | [ ] | [ ] |
| Public image URL or editor asset reference | [ ] | [ ] |
| `og:image`, if custom metadata is used | [ ] | [ ] |
| `og:image:alt`, if supplied | [ ] | [ ] |
| `og:title`, `og:description`, `og:url` or editor equivalents | [ ] | [ ] |
| Published page URL and publication time | [ ] | [ ] |

The [Open Graph protocol](https://ogp.me/) defines these metadata properties. Your editor may expose different field names. Record the fields that actually affect the public page rather than assuming a site-wide default controls every event URL.

## 3. Test the shared URL

Use the exact published link in a test context for the channels your audience uses. Open the card to verify its destination.

| Channel / app | Device and test time | Image and crop observed | Title / description observed | Opened destination | Pass / correction owner |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Messaging channel 1 | [ ] | [ ] | [ ] | [ ] | [ ] |
| Social channel 1 | [ ] | [ ] | [ ] | [ ] | [ ] |
| Second device or language URL | [ ] | [ ] | [ ] | [ ] | [ ] |

Expected result: [ ] Screenshot or review evidence location: [ ]

## 4. Missing or stale card

- Does the exact URL open publicly? [ ]
- Are the revised page and image both published? [ ]
- Does the page-level sharing image or metadata point to the intended image? [ ]
- Is the displayed card old only in one channel? [ ]
- Correction, owner, retest date and observed result: [ ]

For LinkedIn, [Post Inspector](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a6233775) can refresh a cached URL preview for **new** posts. It does not change the preview on existing posts. Check a newly composed post after using it. Do not assume other services use the same refresh process.

After an event date, venue or edition change, recheck the page, image, preview and already-circulating posts. Record any correction message or replacement link needed: [ ]
