# Event website hosting bandwidth and transfer comparison sheet

Enter actual current provider terms, not generic web-hosting averages. “Bandwidth” can mean rate (bits/second) or transferred data (bytes/billing period); ask which unit the quote uses. Preserve links to current plan and usage documents. No universal overage price or traffic allowance applies.

## Measured event journeys

| Journey or asset | Measured bytes transferred to one visitor | Expected visits/requests in period | Rough visitor transfer = bytes × requests | CDN/origin/provider boundary | Evidence and date |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Event landing page incl. images | [ ] | [ ] | [ ] | [ ] | [ ] |
| Registration flow | [ ] | [ ] | [ ] | [ ] | [ ] |
| Poster or programme download | [ ] | [ ] | [ ] | [ ] | [ ] |
| Third-party video or checkout | [ ] | [ ] | [do not attribute without checking] | [ ] | [ ] |

This multiplication is a rough scenario, not an invoice forecast. Caching, repeated visits, geography, requests, origin traffic and other billed resources can change actual usage. Model the ticket-release peak separately from the monthly total.

## Compare the plan’s actual metrics

| Provider metric and unit | Included allowance / period | What counts? | Regional rule | Over-limit action and rate | Alerts / spend controls | Current usage evidence |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Transfer to visitors | [ ] | [ ] | [ ] | [ ] | [ ] | [ ] |
| CDN to origin/compute transfer | [ ] | [ ] | [ ] | [ ] | [ ] | [ ] |
| Requests and image processing | [ ] | [ ] | [ ] | [ ] | [ ] | [ ] |
| Compute or server resources | [ ] | [ ] | [ ] | [ ] | [ ] | [ ] |

## Provider questions to get in writing

1. Is the quoted bandwidth a peak rate, monthly data transfer, or both? What units and billing window apply?
2. Which bytes, requests and regions count; what is excluded? Does CDN-to-origin transfer have its own metric?
3. Does unused allowance roll over? What occurs at the threshold: paid overage, speed limit, site pause, or approval to upgrade?
4. When do warnings arrive, who receives them and can a budget cap pause the site during on-sale?
5. Where can the organizer see actual usage by project and metric? How quickly does it update?
6. Which third-party assets, checkout and video are billed outside this hosting account?
