# Event website video autoplay audit worksheet

Copy this table for each event edition. Record observations from the published page, not only the CMS preview. Do not put attendee data in the sheet.

| Page / placement | Clip owner and host | Attendee task served | Essential facts also in text? | Autoplay / sound / loop | Poster and manual play | Pause/stop/hide by keyboard | Reduced-motion behavior | Captions or transcript | First-load transfer: auto vs click-to-play | Decision / owner / retest date |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Example: event home hero | Marketing / approved host | Convey atmosphere | Date, venue, price and ticket link visible | Muted loop proposed | Poster available | Verify on published page | Static poster proposed | No spoken content | Measure both variants | Pending / owner / date |

## Acceptance pass

- [ ] Event date, time zone, venue, price or price link and official registration action remain usable when playback fails.
- [ ] Test audible autoplay blocked, muted playback, keyboard-only operation and visible pause/stop/hide controls.
- [ ] Test the reduced-motion setting and the actual embedded player; use a still option for nonessential movement.
- [ ] If automatic motion lasts more than five seconds beside other content, review WCAG 2.2.2 with a qualified accessibility reviewer.
- [ ] Compare initial mobile transfer for autoplay and poster-plus-play, including third-party scripts and requests.
- [ ] Review captions or text alternatives for spoken information and record the content owner.
- [ ] Record Keep / Replace with poster / Remove, the approving owner and a retest trigger.

A short clip is not automatically accessible, and a muted clip can still consume data or distract. This is an operational worksheet, not a conformance certificate.
