Event invitation email subject lines: 25 examples to adapt
A subject line tells a prospective attendee why this event email is in their inbox now. It should identify the event or useful news without promising a ticket, seat, price or speaker that the destination cannot confirm. The examples below are starting points for invitations to people who have not registered. Order confirmations, arrival reminders and change notices need different subjects.

Choose the message before the wording
Identify the one reason for this send: a new registration opening, a confirmed session, a location-specific invitation or a real closing point. Then select one approved fact the subject can carry. Use the preview text to add a different useful detail, not to repeat the headline. Mailchimp describes the From name, subject and preview as the first information a recipient may see together. Because inboxes show different amounts of text, put the distinguishing fact early. Replace every bracketed field below with a current, approved detail; delete a line if that condition is not true.
Registration is open
These lines fit a campaign sent after the registration or ticket page is ready. They do not say that a reader is already registered. Make the action in the email body and the linked page match the subject.
- [Event]: registration is now open for [Date]
- Explore tickets for [Event] on [Date]
- [Event] opens registration for the [Year] edition
- Plan your place at [Event] in [City]
- Registration opens today for [Event]
Make the practical outcome clear
A workshop or webinar invitation can name what participants will actually do or learn. Avoid an outcome that the agenda or instructor has not approved. A specific topic is more useful than a generic promise of a “must-attend” event.
- Practice [Skill] at [Event] on [Date]
- Build [Deliverable] in the [Event] workshop
- Ask [Topic] questions live at [Event]
- A hands-on session on [Topic] at [Event]
- Learn [Specific Task] with [Speaker] at [Event]
Announce confirmed program details
A speaker, agenda or session can be a useful reason to write again only once it is confirmed and visible at the destination. If the schedule may still change, describe the published program as current rather than final.
- The [Event] session list is ready to explore
- [Speaker] joins the confirmed [Event] program
- See the [Topic] track at [Event]
- New at [Event]: a session on [Topic]
- Explore the published [Event] agenda
Clarify the event format or place
Distinguish online attendance from an in-person venue and check the date or city before sending. A subject should not suggest a livestream, local venue or hybrid choice that the registration page does not offer.
- Join [Event] online on [Date]
- [Event] meets in [City] on [Date]
- Attend the [Topic] workshop at [Venue]
- Choose your [Event] attendance format
- [Event] in [City]: see the venue and program
Use deadlines and availability only when verified
Use this category only when the closing date, ticket type or current availability has been checked with the event owner. Do not manufacture scarcity. If capacity or a sales window changes before the send, rewrite the subject and preview; an old scheduled draft is not proof of current availability.
- [Event] registration closes [Date]
- [Ticket Type] sales end [Date] for [Event]
- Last day to register for [Event]: [Date]
- [Event] has [Verified Number] places available
- [Ticket Type] is available until [Date] at [Event]
Check the subject in the delivered invitation
Read the subject next to the From name and preview in a delivered test message, on a narrow screen as well as a desktop inbox. Confirm that any placeholder, date, time zone, speaker, price condition and availability claim agrees with the email body and current registration destination. Mailchimp recommends descriptive, audience-aware subjects and provides testing options, but no score or formula guarantees a result for your audience. If your email service supports a subject A/B test, compare only approved variants and judge the result against the registration action you intended, not a subject-line score alone.
Use the editable subject-line fact card
The English card provides five event states and twenty additional original subject-and-preview prompts. For each planned variant, record the fact source, destination and reviewer, then mark it usable, revise or hold. Translate the final approved pair for each language audience and inspect its delivered inbox view.
