How to set up event registration without PDF tickets
Removing a PDF attachment and running an event where attendees need no ticket at the door are different decisions. Choose the intended arrival method first; then change only the delivery setting your provider supports.

1. Decide what replaces the PDF
Download the no-PDF delivery and admission check card (Markdown, English)
Write one arrival instruction: will staff look up a registration, will a digital ticket still be presented, or is another approved record used? Name the team member who resolves a missing registration. Do not assume that turning off a file attachment cancels tickets, removes QR codes from every channel, or changes check-in rules.
2. Change the provider setting
Eventbrite’s registration-only guide uses Order Options → Order Confirmation and unticks “Include printable tickets in all orders”. It separately offers an optional Registration event type under Tickets → Settings for paid events; those are Eventbrite-specific controls. Ticket Tailor has an “Attach ticket vouchers as a PDF” checkbox in its event-confirmation email settings, including an event-specific override. Unticking that checkbox removes the PDF attachment but leaves its standard ticket in the email body. Confirm which outcome your own platform provides before saving.[1][2][3]
3. Check the buyer confirmation
Complete one authorized test registration and inspect the actual confirmation message. Check whether a PDF is attached, whether a ticket or code remains in the email or account, and whether the arrival instruction matches your plan. Eventbrite tells organizers using its no-PDF flow to explain that attendees need not show a digital or printed ticket. Update the supported confirmation message or pre-event note accordingly; do not say “no ticket required” if staff will still scan one.[1]
4. Rehearse admission
At the planned entrance, test the supported registration lookup or remaining digital credential with a controlled record. Check the result in the admission record, not merely the appearance of the confirmation email. Rehearse the route for a registrant who cannot find the message and identify an exception owner. If the buyer message and gate procedure disagree, correct both and retest before announcing the new delivery format.
