How to correct a buyer email on an event ticket order

A wrong buyer email can send order access to the wrong inbox. First identify which record needs correction: the order buyer, an individual ticket holder, or the buyer’s platform account. These may have different edit paths. Use an authorized request and the ticket issuer’s current controls.

Correct the order contact, then inspect ticket records and buyer access separately.

1. Match the request to the order

Download the buyer-email correction card (Markdown, English)

Locate the event and the exact order using the provider’s support process. Confirm the requester is authorized to change its contact address; do not use a guessed spelling or an unverified reply address. Record only a masked order reference on your working card. Check whether the requested field is buyer email rather than an attendee’s email on one ticket.

2. Edit the buyer contact only

Open the provider’s order-management view and inspect the current buyer field before saving the replacement. Events.com documents a People > Buyers edit path and warns that changing this email affects access to the order. Eventbrite lists Edit buyer information under Manage Orders; its individual attendee edits are separate when attendee-level information was collected. Follow your provider’s current permissions and review the complete replacement address through the authorized channel.[1][2]

3. Verify the result

Reopen the order and confirm the new buyer contact is stored. Check that ticket holders, ticket status and quantities still match the intended order. Then use the provider’s supported confirmation or access route and have the buyer verify receipt or account access; do not assume an automatic resend. Record the outcome and route any failed access check to the named support owner.
